New Signs

I keep coming across empty advertising boards and distorted street signs. There is something dystopian about them. They are totemic and monumental but they are also rusted, weathered, faded, distorted and stripped down to the bones. They look like they were created by some past version of humanity which died out ages ago.

There is nothing being advertised. The original function of the boards and signs has been lost or maybe it has been changed! They now act as frames of the urban landscape. They are embedded and their new language is of the abstract, geometric and fragmented landscape.
